It’s like clockwork now. After a few spotty years, and a Ghost Whopper that appeared in about 6 locations for 5 minutes, it looks like we’ve entered a new era where Halloween Whoppers are all but guaranteed at some point in October. We’ve had Green, Orange, White, and Black—which was another ‘green’ if recall such events.

Last year was a bit of a mess. The first location—the one nearest to me—had things in stock, but didn’t have any of the proper containers. Shouldn’t matter if you just want to eat the thing, but I’m petty and want to double the price of admission into an article. Regular wrappers just don’t cut it. I did eventually find a place with all the correct parts to the puzzle, and life was good.

The theme is tied into an Adams Family movie or TV show (I have no idea), and in addition to the purple bun, we have a new crown as well. I’m guessing this show is animated, given the odd proportions that each of the characters exhibit. From some other online sources, there are kid meal toys, but who knows if those were available. I still grabbed the crown though.

There’s a whole suite of food too. Chocolate Shake and Churro Fries being the standouts. How are they? No idea! I didn’t get them. So back to the whopper, it feels like the same as last year, ie: it’s a normal whopper with a coloured bun. But they used purple potatoes as the dye, so perhaps it’s somewhat more natural than traditional food colouring, though somehow I doubt it.

I do miss when something new happened, like the burger patty/chicken patty combo a few years back, or the fried jalapeno choppings. It is, again, right at the $10 mark, so extras will cost you. Ah well, I only do this once a year, so I’ll savor this garbage for the time being.
