mIRC

I spent too much time on IRC chat, mainly once I got into running a Game related website. It was about the time when Half-life was announced, and we were waiting endlessly for it to be released. Initially I started in #half-life, which was run primarily by the quake2.com people. Like many things, young people aren't the best as being managers, and since I was young too, I fell for a lot of the personality conflicts inherent in such a time bomb.

Eventually I found myself banned for whatever reason, and at that point a closer friend had started #valve. There were a few conflicts, but it wasn't as bad. I also started #dopefish as a personal room. Eventually I realized what a toxic environment it all was, and left. This was all mainly between 1998 and 2000. Stockholm syndrome is apparently very real, so for whatever reason I look back fondly on this period of time. I have a few channel stats below:

#DOPEFISH | #VALVE | #RIYF | #Q3A | #HALF-LIFE | #TFC | #KINGPIN
#3DGAMES | #COUNTERSTRIKE | #HL | #INFINTEMONKEYS | #LOST_IN_SPACE | #TEAM-FORTRESS | #TEAMFORTRESS2 | #TF2 | #THEWALL | #TRESPASSER | #UNREAL2
